Week One - In search for original justice
Rev Canon Dr Ellen Loudon, Canon Chancellor at Liverpool Cathedral and Director of Social Justice for the Diocese of Liverpool leads the first of our Lent course sessions for 2022.
In this session, we think about ‘original justice’: What God’s intention is for the way we live together, how we share our common life, how we hold justice for ourselves, and how this is reflected in the way we care for the world and seek justice, live out kindness and walk humbly with God.
To support us in the challenge, Liverpool Cathedral is hosting six weekly online sessions with videos and discussion exploring the themes of the book.
Meanwhile, you can buy a copy of the Embracing Justice book from the cathedral shop.
Embracing Justice - Lent Challenge 2022
Our Lent Challenge follows the Church of England’s #LiveLent theme for 2022, Embracing Justice. Based around the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book, written by Isabelle Hamley, the theme remembers the cry of the Prophet Isaiah: ‘Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice?’ calling us to reflect on the injustices of the world and ask what God is calling us to do about them. Here we have videos reflecting on the six themes and an invitation to join Liverpool Cathedral's discussions on each topicesCourse 6 PartsTotal current bookmarks 1
