How Christians give

Considering our attitude to giving is one part of our giving journey. The next question for us all is how can we put our giving into action. This short course helps you explore different ways that you can give and give generously.

In this course, we consider three aspects of our giving life.  

The first is around regular giving to a church community that we are connected to. It helps us think about how we can further the work of the church. Every church and cathedral in the Church of England relies on donations to support its work. No church receives regular contributions from central government for the work they do. So giving generously is important so churches can continue to make a bigger difference to their communities. Churches in the Church of England support one another through their giving so supporting a local church is really important. 

The second is legacy giving. Christian disciples are good at giving during their life but many do not consider how a gift in their will, once all other provisions have been made, can be useful to support the work of their local church.

Finally, there is charitable giving. Many Christians, when they consider their approach to giving, think about the charitable giving they can offer. Many charities have Christian roots and offer an ability to make a bigger difference.
