Why do Christians ‘Tell’ people about Jesus?

As Christian disciple you will have experienced feeling what God can do for you and what God wants from you. As a disciple, you will want others to experience this. The best way for others to know Jesus and God is to tell them your story and invite them to find out more through coming to church. .

Everybody will talk about something that interests them and which they want their friends and family to enjoy. A great place to eat. Their favourite television show, film or piece of music. A book they have read and a place they have visited.

Christian disciples will want to do the same and talk about God.  As a disciple you’ll want to ‘Tell’ people about Jesus. But some people feel they can't invite someone or don't feel confident in telling their story. This short course helps you think about what stops you from being confident and gives ideas for how your can bring more people to know God through church.

In the Bible, you’ll find many references to making disciples, such as Matthew 4:19-20“‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.”

Watch this short video as Kate Wharton explains why it is important to be ready with our story

As you think and pray about this then also start to think about who you can talk to about Jesus.
