Two minutes, 50 words, 40 steps

For an even shorter version (though you need to know a bit about some of the Bible stories to see what they’re getting at), here’s someone’s attempt at summing up the Bible in 50 words that rhyme

God made, Adam bit, Noah

arked, Abraham split, Joseph

ruled, Jacob fooled, bush talked,

Moses balked, Pharaoh plagued,

people walked, sea divided,

tablets guided, promise landed,

Saul freaked, David peeked,

prophets warned, Jesus born,

God walked, love talked, anger

crucified, hope died, Love rose,

Spirit flamed, Word spread, God

remained.

The Bible Society’s ‘The Bible in 40 steps’ traces the story that runs through all the books of the Bible from beginning to end.

Having looked at this material then ask yourself the following questions

• What would you say is the overall story of the Bible?

• Is there a main point to this library of books?
