Try some more

It might take a while to build up to reading one of the longer books, like Isaiah, in one go – but there are plenty of other books in the Bible that you can read through in one sitting.

Bishop Paul recommends reading Mark, the shortest of the Gospels. If you haven’t already, give it a try. (Read Mark)

If you’d prefer to hear it read, listen to David Suchet reading the whole Gospel

(about an hour and a half).

If Jonah has inspired you to read another Old Testament book, try the story of Ruth or one of the shorter books of prophecy such as Joel.

You could try one of the shorter letters in the New Testament. The book of Titus has only three chapters while the book Philemon is even shorter. None of them will take you long to read
